Time for Change

Yes, it is finally that time of year! The flowers are blooming and the sunshine is shining. It is also that time of year where people start looking around there house and think "Blah, I really need a change." Or like me and my husband and think "We need to clean out that old closet!"

Spring cleaning comes with spring change. What is new for this year? Why new styles will there be? If your interested in spicing up the old place then take a look at those beautiful rooms in the slide show.

In home decoration you will see:

1. Dramatic color is the new thing. Whether your that college student living in the cheap little flat and want to experiment with some dramatic colors. Or you married and feel the burning desire to just re-paint everything in the bold new red! Whatever the case may be, color is in.

2. Dramatic styles are in as well. The 2010 edgy, funky and youthful look is everywhere! I happen to love it though. I like to decorate using romantic and Italian styles. However flipping through my Home and Garden magazines, I just can't help to see the new edgy looks. They are unique and fun. What a way to make your guest feel enthusiastic.  If your interested in pursuing the edgy and funky look then start looking into the dramatic coloring and the unique combinations of decor. Vintage is a edgy look as well.

3. Soft coloring with a nature-oriented decor is a big thing right now. I love the soft greens and blues with a mixture of white. And let's not forget those big, green plants everywhere! I feel so relaxed in a home that is full of soft colors.

4. Artwork seems to be the must have these day. I can personally follow under this one. My house has oil paintings hanging on every wall. I think it is unique and brings a sense of edge to your place. Most people seem to think it contrast their walls or makes your home feel intellectual. So you can start shopping at those art galleries.

5. Culture based decorating is in as well. I see a lot of the ITALIAN and MEDITERRANEAN cultures in homes. Culture based homes make them look historical and look like they have been there forever. They give you a sense of spice. I personally love the culture based looks. I am one of those expressive people who love to travel. I think it is nice to bring pieces of different cultures and accent them into your home.

6. The Sophisticated/Romantic look is popular for women and older women. In this type of decor you find more romantic coloring and more of the classy decor. As you see in the slide show, romantic homes have class to them. The chandelierhanging with all the perfect crystals and the soft pinks and dark reds. Makes you want to curl up with your lover. People tend to fall for the romantic look. The Sophisticated look is more trendy then Romantic but they are so close together. Sophisticated throws in some contrastcolors and uses more edgy decor but over all falls in their with the Romantic side. Because overall this is the beautiful girly decor.

This Hub is just to help anyone in Spring Cleaning mode like myself. This can generate some new decor ideas. I know Spring can bring on new projects for your home. Like I always say "Out with the Old and In with the new!"

I enjoyed your hub and the pictures. Some are a bit too much for me and others I love. Spring is a great time to redecorate. Thanks for the inspiration.
